Chickpeas Maintain Quiet Tone

PANAMA - Sep 24/21 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained their relatively quiet tone through the past week, with the result there were few changes in values.

North America's fundamental shortage of product remained a factor in that region's markets, with growers continuing to see strong bids for larger caliber product in both the United States and Canada.

By contrast, international desi chickpea markets maintained a softer tone relative to kabuli. Australia's harvest is expected to get underway in October, with the result exporters there are thinking about where to sell this year's output.
