Tension Apparent in Dry Beans

PANAMA - Jun 4/21 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets posted a mixed finish on the week, with many buyers waiting to see how northern hemisphere crops develop before committing to further purchases.

With a few processors and exporters pressing to reduce old crop inventories, the dry edible bean price index for the United States lost 0.9 points on the week to finish at 97.6, ending its recent advances.

At the same time, the global pulse price index inched up 0.1 points to close at 93.1 while the Canadian index eased 0.1 points to finish at 94.5 points.
