WASHINGTON - May 24/21 - SNS -- Farmers in the United States are matching progress made last year seeding their field pea crops.
Data from state level reports suggests 78% of the crop is in the ground, compared to 79% last year and the ercent five year average of 73%.
However North Dakota farmers are hoping rain will arrive to ensure proper germination and crop establishment. It is one of the key producing states. By contrast, farmers in Montana and parts of the U.S. pacific northwest got some relief during the past week.
