Peas Feeling Hopeful About India

PANAMA - May 14/21 - SNS -- International field pea markets are starting the coming week with a certain level of anticipation, with some market participants wondering if India will extend its elimination of import quotas to peas.

That country removed quantity restrictions for mung and black matpe beans as well as pigeon peas for shipments with bill of lading dates before October 31.

There is some hope peas will receive similar treatment as that country's government wrestles with food price inflation and disruptions to its supply domestic chains resulting from the current COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
