Canaryseed Helped By Stocks Report
PANAMA - May 7/21 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed finish on the week, with canaryseed and sunflower markets advancing while U.S. millet values eased.
Markets were not surprised by Statistics Canada's stocks in all positions report for canaryseed. Total inventories were pegged at 67,000 metric tons (MT), down from 75,000 as of March 31, 2020 and the recent five year average of 69,200 MT.
Of the total, farmers were said to be holding 47,000 MT, compared to 63,000 at the same time last year, while commercial inventories jumped from 12,000 to 20,000 MT.
