Questions Over Mustard Stocks
PANAMA - May 7/21 - SNS -- Markets were somewhat surprised with Canada's mustard seed stocks in all positions report because of a sharp decline in inferred domestic disappearance.
Inventories on farms and in commercial positions was estimated at 80,000 metric tons (MT), down from 110,000 on March 31, 2020 and well below the recent five year average of 119,200 MT.
Of the total, 59,000 MT is believed to be in the hands of growers and 21,000 in commercial positions, compared to 94,000 and 16,000 respectively last year.
