Modest Strength in Beans

PANAMA - May 1/21 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets regained strength during the past week, helped by short term improvements in demand to meet domestic and export sales commitments.

As a result, the dry edible bean price index for the United States jumped 1.7 points on the week to finish at 89.6.

At the same time, the global pulse price index rose 0.8 points to close at 88.5 while the Canadian index managed a 0.5 point gain to finish at 89.3 points.
