Strength in Mustard Market

PANAMA - Apr 16/21 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week's trading on a strong note, helped by tight available supplies in spot shipping positions and worries this year's crop will not be large enough to meet prospective needs.

Though prices offered Canadian growers were unchanged on the week for brown and oriental, spot bids for yellow advanced 2%. Bids for all classes are at the upper end of their historic prices ranges.

Since 2007, farmers saw higher prices less than 20% of the time for yellow and oriental, and less than 10% of the time for farmer's dressed No 1 Canada brown mustard delivered to processing plants.
