Supply Worries Support Mustard

PANAMA - Mar 5/21 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets finished the week's trading unchanged to firmer as processors and exporters worry more about available supplies of the various classes.

Oriental benefitted from supply worries, with prices paid to farmers advancing 3% in spot markets to lift them to their highest level since December of 2017.

Both old and new crop bids for No 1 grade oriental mustard ended the week ranging up to CDN 34 cents per pound for farmers dressed product delivered processing plants. Significantly, the average new crop bid was 1.25 cents per pound above the average spot bid with No 2 and No 3 Canada oriental discounted to spot.
