Solid Start to 2021 or Beans

PANAMA - Jan 22/21 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets started the 2021 calendar year on a relatively strong footing, with ongoing demand offsetting increased available supplies in North America.

This was reflected in the dry edible bean price index for the United States, which was unchanged on the week at 85.4, its highest level since August.

By contrast, the global pulse price index was advanced 1.1 points on the week to close at 81.2, while the Canadian index was rose 0.9 points to close at 80.5 points, its highest level since August.
