Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 30/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the north of the State will be slow moving today, and will then move eastwards to reach the Tasman sea on Friday. A cold front will move over the south of the State in the afternoon. Another trough of low pressure will reach the far west coast Friday evening and move across the west and south of the State on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayAreas of morning fog over the northern agricultural area, the Mount Lofty Ranges and south of the pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers over the agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the southern agricultural area and a high chance over the South East districts and Mount Lofty Ranges. Cool to mild grading to warm in the far west and far north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, tending light to moderate and variable in the far north.Thursday 1 OctoberAreas of morning fog over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, then a dry day. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Friday 2 OctoberDry apart from possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the northwest, but with little or no rainfall. A warm day in the south grading to hot in the west and far north. Moderate to fresh and gusty north to northwesterly winds, bringing areas of raised dust in the west, before shifting milder southwest to southerly over the Nullarbor Plain in the evening.Saturday 3 October
Cloud increasing with a slight to medium chance of showers in the west and south, increasing to a high chance later about western and southern coasts. Possible thunderstorms in the west. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh and gusty northeast to northwesterly winds bringing areas of raised dust inland, ahead of a cooler, moderate to fresh southerly change extending across the west and south.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday of 1 to 5 mm are expected over the southern agricultural area and west of the State, reaching 5 to 10 mm over parts of the Lower South East and southern Mount Lofty Ranges.
Sunday until TuesdayHot with fresh to strong northerly winds and areas of raised dust in the northeast on Sunday. Cooler with widespread areas of rain across the west and south, then a medium chance of showers across the State except the far northeast on Monday and Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033

This will occur between 17:00 and 21:00 (ACDT).
Within this 4-hour window there will be an outage between 2.5 and 3.0 hours affecting observations from Automatic Weather Stations.
