Chickpea Exports From Australia Maintain Weak Tone

PANAMA - Aug 4/20 - SNS -- At this point in the marketing year, with chickpea export shipments from Australia were well down, plunging relative to the previous month in June, according to the latest data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Exports during the month reached 7,665 metric tons (MT), down from 19,244 MT the previous month. This boosted export sales so far during the marketing year to 256,982, unchanged last year.

Pakistan was the biggest consumer for the month, taking 3,272 MT. Other was the second most important consumer taking 1,030 MT, followed by Canada at 1,011 MT.
