Birdseeds Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Jul 24/20 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were unchanged to firmer, helped by interest in buying remaining stocks of birdseed sunflower inventories.

The U.S. based National Sunflower Association noted, "Old crop seed stocks are getting tighter and the recent surge in birdfood prices reflects this.

"Birdfood prices continued their upward movement this week gaining an additional U.S. $1.00 to $2.00 per cwt (100 pounds) at some locations. Birdfood bids are trading at $26.50-$30.00 in South Dakota and as much as $28.00 in North Dakota."
