Red Lentil Exports From Canada Maintain Strong Performance
PANAMA - Jul 2/20 - SNS -- So far during the marketing year are keeping up a firmer performance, with red lentil export shipments for Canada jumped compared to the previous month in May, according to trade statistics from Statistics Canada.
Movement for the month reached 177,396 metric tons (MT), up from 127,833 MT the previous month. This boosted export sales so far during the marketing year to 1,253,741, up 26% last year.
The largest consumer for the month was India, taking 62,190 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer buying 56,062 MT, followed by Turkey at 19,281 MT.
