Australia's Chickpea Exports Continue Solid Performance

PANAMA - Jul 2/20 - SNS -- Australia's shipments of chickpeas during May jumped compared to the previous month, according to data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Total movement during the month amounted to 19,636 metric tons (MT), up 56% from the previous month's total of 12,568. So far movement has reached 249,758 MT, up from 232,161 during the previous marketing year.

During the month, Bangladesh was the biggest importer, receiving 8,125 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important importer buying 4,704 MT, followed by Pakistan at 3,465 MT.
