Chickpea Imports By Pakistan Open On Strong Tone

PANAMA - Jun 3/20 - SNS -- Pakistan's imports of chickpeas during January improved versus the previous month, judging from data from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The most recent data showed imports during the month totalled 90,952 metric tons (MT), up 1% from 6,985 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, imports were up 179% from 32,592 MT.

During the month, Russia was the number one supplier, selling 42,571 MT. Australia was the second most important export origin shipping 12,012 MT, followed by Ukraine at 8,243 MT.
