Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 2/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over the Bight today, while a low moves across the Tasman Sea. Between these systems, a cool and gusty airstream is affecting New South Wales. During the next couple of days the high is forecast to shift east, and should be over southeast Australia by late Thursday. This system looks set to decay at the end of the week as the next front skims across the state's south, but should be quickly replaced by a new high.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA shower or two about the central and southern ranges and southwest slopes, falling as snow above 1600m about the Alps. Possible shower about the Hunter coast this evening. Dry and mostly cloudy remainder. Cool west to southwesterly winds, fresh in the east.Wednesday 3 JuneThe chance of a shower or two about western parts of the southern and central ranges, possibly falling as snow on the Alps. Dry and mostly sunny otherwise. Areas of morning frost on the ranges. Daytime temperatures near or slightly below average. South to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast. Hazardous surf conditions developing along southern and central parts of the coast.Thursday 4 JuneDry apart from the chance of a shower on the northern coast. Mostly sunny. A cold morning, with widespread frost about the ranges, slopes and southern inland. Daytime temperatures near average. Fresh southerly winds near the coast, tending light to moderate east to southeasterly inland. Hazardous surf conditions along the coast.Friday 5 JuneDry apart from the chance of a shower along the northern coast. Mostly sunny. A cold morning, with widespread frost and possible fog about the ranges, slopes and southern inland. Daytime temperatures near or slightly above average. Generally light and variable winds, tending moderate southerly about the north coast. Hazardous surf conditions along the northern half of the coast.Saturday 6 JuneDry apart from the chance of a shower about the far north coast. Cloud increasing during the day, particularly in the south. A cool morning, with widespread frost and possible fog across most inland areas. Daytime temperatures near or slightly above average. Generally light and variable winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
