MELBOURNE - Jun 1/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over southern WA will move over the Bight later Tuesday, then move slowly southeastwards to be over western Victoria by Thursday night. A cold front will move over southern coastal districts early Saturday. Forecast for the rest of MondayMostly cloudy with a slight to medium chance of showers over the much of agricultural area and western coasts. Clear in the far north. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds easing through the evening.Tuesday 2 JuneA slight to medium chance of showers about the northern agricultural areas and the west of the West Coast district, grading to a medium to high chance about the southern coasts and ranges. Possible early morning frosts over the northern agricultural area and Pastoral districts. Generally cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 3 JuneA slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, more likely about eastern Eyre Peninsula coast. Early fog west of Spencer Gulf. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly at times in the west.Thursday 4 JuneCool to cold morning with areas of early morning frost and fog. A cool day with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 5 June Cold to very cold at first with widespread areas of frost and possible fog patches. Sunny inland with cloud developing in the south. A slight to medium chance of showers developing over southern coastal areas and the South East districts later in the day. Cool with light southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the southern coasts and southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Less than 2 mm over remaining parts of the southern agricultural area, grading to less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area and the far south of the Pastoral districts. Saturday until MondayA chance of showers extending over the agricultural area at the weekend, before gradually easing and contracting southwards late in the period. Cool to cold mornings with early frost patches over inland parts. Cool days with light winds, becoming to moderate south to southeasterly, turning northeasterly in the west early next week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033 Notice Board 31 additional forecast locations for SA Changes to state Weather and Warnings pages --> BoM is upgrading its IT systems in South Australia on Tuesday 5 December 2017.
