Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 1/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A front is forecast to cross the state today, bringing significantly cooler conditions and potential for snow to low-levels over the ranges in its wake. A complex low pressure system is expected to form offshore as this front reaches the Tasman Sea and deepens on Tuesday. The low is then forecast to head eastwards quickly as a new high pressure system moves over the state mid-week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayA few showers in the east, mainly about the central southern inland. The chance of a thunderstorm in the northeast and the central southern inland. Snow is possible above 800 metres about the southern and central ranges, and 1100 metres about the northern ranges. Small hail is possible with thunderstorms about the central southern inland. Fresh northwesterly winds shifting cooler and gusty west to southwesterly.Tuesday 2 JuneA few showers about the central and southern east, mainly about western parts of the central and southern ranges, and mostly during the morning. Snow is possible above 800 metres about the southern and central ranges, and 1000 metres about the northern ranges, chiefly during the early morning. Dry and partly cloudy in the west. Daytime temperatures below average, particularly about the ranges. West to southwesterly winds, fresh along the coast and ranges.Wednesday 3 JuneThe chance of a shower or two about western parts of the central ranges, possibly falling as snow about the Alps. Dry and mostly sunny otherwise, although with hazardous surf conditions developing along the coast. Patches of morning frost on the ranges. Daytime temperatures average or slightly below average. South to southwesterly winds, fresh along the coast.Thursday 4 JuneThe chance of a shower along the northern coast. Dry and mostly sunny otherwise. A cold morning, with widespread frost about the ranges and adjacent lowlands. Daytime temperatures near average. East to southeasterly winds. Hazardous surf conditions along the coast.Friday 5 JuneThe slight chance of a shower along the northern coastal fringe. Dry and mostly sunny otherwise. A cold morning, with widespread frost about the ranges and adjacent lowlands. Daytime temperatures generally near average. Light variable winds.
