Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 31/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will clear eastern Victoria this morning, however another front will approach western Victoria tonight. This front will cross the State on Monday as an associated low pressure system moves eastwards across Bass Strait. Another weaker front crossing the Southern Ocean will clip the far south later Tuesday, with a high pressure system becoming established over the State late Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers mainly about the eastern ranges with only isolated showers elsewhere. Showers falling as snow at times about the alpine peaks. Mainly dry in the far northwest and East Gippsland. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds, stronger over elevated areas during the morning.Monday 1 JuneWidespread showers over the southwest and about the eastern ranges, scattered showers elsewhere though generally isolated in the south. Small hail and gusty winds possible with showers in the west and northwest. Showers becoming isolated in the West in the afternoon. Snow showers above 1300 metres. A cold day with moderate north to northwesterly winds shifting moderate to fresh west to southwesterly.Tuesday 2 JuneScattered showers on and south of the ranges. Isolated showers to the north but generally dry in the northwest. Brief snow above 1300 metres. Morning fog patches in the northeast. Cool with moderate west to southwest winds locally fresh along the coast.Wednesday 3 JuneIsolated showers on and south of the ranges mostly clearing during the day. Brief snow at first on the Alpine peaks. Morning fog patches in the northeast. Cool with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
