Sideways Tone in Chickpeas
PANAMA - May 29/20 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained their sideways tone in the past week, with markets remaining concerned about global supplies of large caliber product.
Supplies of medium and small caliber kabuli type chickpeas remain substantial.
Those inventories will be drawn down by normal use and some migration of demand from large to medium caliber product because of price and availability. However, residuals are at levels which could discourage any significant expansion in seeded area for another year.
