Turkey's Lentil Imports Start With Strong Tone

PANAMA - May 12/20 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year on a a firmer tone, with lentil imports by Turkey leapt compared to the previous month in March, judging from statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports during the month totalled 100,018 metric tons (MT), up from 24,054 MT the previous month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 169,230, up 106% last year.

In the month, Canada was the biggest exporter, selling 84,751 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important export origin supplying 9,036 MT, followed by Australia at 3,083 MT.
