Russia's Sunflower Seed Exports Start With Firm Note
PANAMA - May 12/20 - SNS -- Export shipments of sunflower seeds from Russia jumped versus the previous month in February, the latest data from Federal Customs Service of Russia reveals.
Total shipments for the month reached 195,905 metric tons (MT), up 25% from the previous month's total of 156,683. So far export sales have reached 352,588 MT, up from 32,775 during the previous calendar year.
Recent trade statistics reported Turkey was top buyer, receiving 90,666 MT during the month. Romania was the second most important destination taking 31,248 MT, followed by Bulgaria at 25,280 MT.
