Lentil Imports By India Post Weak Month

PANAMA - Apr 13/20 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for India were well down, plunging relative to the previous month in December, trade data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reports.

Total imports throughout the month reached 46,882 metric tons (MT), down 48% from the previous month's total of 89,437. So far imports have totalled 567,772 MT, up from 218,687 during the last calendar year.

Canada was the top origin for the month, shipping 29,907 MT. United States was the second most important supplier supplying 8,529 MT, followed by Australia at 5,789 MT.
