Easier Tone in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Apr 11/20 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with some softness stemming from demand uncertainty and cross commodity competition.
Recent volatility in the value of the Canadian versus U.S. dollar has not been helpful, except insofar as Canadian processors and exporters were able to put on sales when their dollar was weaker and to the extent currency exposure was hedged.
Traders in some countries do not have good facilities for hedging currency, but that is not an issue in Europe or Canada, with the result they should be less affected by currency volatility.
