WASHINGTON - Mar 31/20 - SNS -- Farmers in the United States plan to slash land in chickpeas by 32% for an intended 306,000 acres, according to the USDA.
Small chickpea intentions, at 100,000 acres, are 5% below 2019, while large chickpea intentions, at 206,000 acres, are expected to decrease 41% from the previous year. If realized, chickpea acreage will be at the lowest level since 2015.
