Little Change in Mustard

PANAMA - Feb 28/20 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets were largely unchanged on the week, though the average bids growers are seeing drifted lower as companies work to avoid accumulating more inventory than needed.

Markets will be looking to the Statistics Canada's seeding intentions report at the end of the April to get a sense for total area. However, that report does not break down area by class. Unofficial break downs will be available after planted area is known.

At the moment, there is significant disagreement among market participants about how much mustard seed is likely to be sown this year as well as the split between the most important classes, brown and yellow.
