Russia's Chickpea Exports Sustain Strong Tone

PANAMA - Feb 3/20 - SNS -- Exports of chickpeas from Russia were up sharply, leaping relative to the previous month in November, data from Federal Customs Service of Russia reveals.

Total shipments for the month reached 85,528 metric tons (MT), up 65% from the previous month's total of 51,878. So far export sales have amounted to 408,637 MT, up from 105,809 in the same period the previous calendar year.

Turkey was the most important buyer during the month, taking 34,541 MT. India was the second most important consumer taking 24,043 MT, followed by Pakistan at 18,272 MT.
