Little Change in Chickpeas

PANAMA - Nov 29/19 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were mostly unchanged through the past week, with offers from growers pushing ahead of the short term needs of the market now that the harvest is considered complete.

Growers in Saskatchewan managed to harvest 93% of the crop, with many reporting the presence of green seeds. This has added focus to grower efforts to find potential buyers for feed quality product.

If the balance of the crop is not harvested, it reduced the potential size of the Canadian harvest from around 260,000 to 246,000 metric tons (MT), with a fairly large fraction expected to be diverted into feed markets.
