Peas Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Nov 8/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, with relatively good demand reported across the supply chain for all qualities.

This has fueled optimism total movement through the end of November will approach the recent five year average of 42% of all product expected to be exported during the season will have moved. In the first two months of the 2019-20 marketing year 19.4% of all peas expected to be shipped by season's end had moved, compared to an average of 26%.

Markets do not expect to see shipments to the Indian subcontinent improve during the come year, even though seeding this year's rabi season crop is off to a slower start than last year.
