Quality Worries Support Beans

PANAMA - Nov 8/19 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets ended the week's trading on a firmer note against worries about available qualities of some classes in Canada and the United States.

Though the harvest in the United States started the week at 83% complete, compared to 99% last year, progress in key states like North Dakota and Minnesota was slowed by another week of challenging weather conditions.

Worries about quality were reflected in prices offered to growers for colored beans posting solid week over week increases pushing the grower bean price index up 39 points to 1042 and the average price offered for all classes of dry edible beans from U.S. $29.94 per 100 pounds to $31.10.
