Canada's Yellow Pea Exports Continue Firm Tone
PANAMA - Nov 5/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of yellow peas for Canada rocketed relative to the previous month in September, official data from Statistics Canada reveals.
Total movement throughout the month reached 508,182 metric tons (MT), up 445% from the previous month's total of 93,246. So far shipments have amounted to 601,428 MT, up from 463,863 in the same period the previous marketing year.
China was the biggest destination for the month, buying 457,535 MT. Cuba was the second most important destination receiving 28,500 MT, followed by India at 8,240 MT.
