North American Chickpea Harvest Wrapping Up

PANAMA - Nov 1/19 - SNS -- There was little change in international chickpea markets during the past week with offers from exporters remaining in line with the immediate needs of buyers in most destinations.

The North American harvest is finally wrapping up. The U.S. harvest is mostly complete, while Saskatchewan started the week with 93% of its crop in the bin, with another 5% still standing and 2% ready to straight combine.

Quality is not expected to be a major issue for U.S. processors and exporters, but markets are doubtful of Canada's quality.
