Slower Pace to French Pea Exports
PARIS - Oct 14/19 - SNS -- France's field pea exports are advancing at a slightly slower pace than last season as the 2019-20 sales campaign gets underway, according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.
Export shipments during August totalled 19,530 metric tons (MT), up 10% the 17,700 MT shipped the previous month, but down 13% from the 22,415 MT shipped the same month last year.
This lifted season to date export shipments to 37,230 MT, down 6% from the 39,545 MT shipped during the same period last season. So far this marketing year, European Union destinations accounted for 94.6% of all pea exports, compared to 98.7% last season.
