Doubts Remain Over Data
PANAMA - Sep 14/19 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets continue to doubt official data about production and ending stocks for Canadian canaryseed.
Most market participants believe both the seeded area and ending stocks are higher than estimated by Statistics Canada.
In its latest crop production update, seeded area was left unchanged at 188,200 acres, while production was estimated at 80,400 metric tons (MT). Provincial crop reporters believe yields are 10% lower.
