Mustard Ending Stocks Higher Than Expected

PANAMA - Sep 6/19 - SNS -- Canada finished the 2018-19 marketing year with around 20% more mustard seed on hand than initial expected.

Statistics Canada pegged this year's carry in at 72,700 metric tons (MT), up from 53,400 last summer, and above initial estimates that residual supplies would total 60,000 MT.

This is the first time since the end of the 2013-14 marketing campaign that Statistics Canada has provided a survey based estimate of residual supplies of mustard. It is important to note that inventories are not broken down by class or by province.
