Canada's Yellow Pea Exports Post Slow Performance

PANAMA - Sep 4/19 - SNS -- At this point in the marketing year recorded a weaker month, with yellow pea export shipments for Canada dropped compared to the previous month in July, according to official data from Statistics Canada.

Total exports during the month amounted to 263,100 metric tons (MT), down 5% from the previous month's total of 276,883. So far exports have amounted to 2,596,986 MT, up from 2,326,867 during the previous marketing year.

The latest trade statistics revealed China was largest importer, buying 223,188 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 23,100 MT, followed by Nepal at 9,127 MT.
