French Pea Exports Slump On Season

PARIS - Aug 21/19 - SNS -- France's field pea exports slipped in June, with the result export movement during the 2018-19 marketing year ended up at 219,940 metric tons (MT), compared to 285,550 the previous season, according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.

Export shipments during May totalled 21,205 metric tons (MT), down 5% the 22,290 MT shipped the previous month, and up 26% from the 16,860 MT shipped the same month last year. Export clearances for the 2018-19 marketing year are down 24% from the previous marketing year.

Belgium was the most important destination, taking 10,890 MT. The United Kingdom was the second most important destination at 4,460 MT, followed by Netherlands at 2,080 and Italy at 1,595 MT.
