Birdseeds Mixed on Week

PANAMA - Aug 16/19 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets ended the week on a mixed note, with markets responding more to the status of developing crops than buying or selling interest.

For the third week in a row, oil type sunflower markets in the United States set new highs for that country's 2018-19 marketing campaign, suggesting stocks on farms are unusually low.

Since the beginning of July, grower bids have advanced 5%, ranging up to U.S. $18.50 per 100 pounds (cwt) for farmers dressed quality delivered facilities in North Dakota and up to $18.35 cwt in Minnesota.
