Oat Harvest Seen 2% Lower

WASHINGTON - Aug 12/19 - SNS -- U.S. oats production is forecast at 60.4 million bushels, down 2% from the previous forecast but up 12% from 2018 for comparable States, according to the USDA's latest crop production report.

Growers expect to harvest 909,000 acres for grain, unchanged from the previous forecast but up 10% from 2018 for comparable States.

Based on conditions as of August 1, the United States yield is forecast at 66.4 bushels per acre, down 1.4 bushels from the previous forecast but 1.1 bushels above the 2018 average yield for comparable States.
