PANAMA - Aug 3/19 - SNS -- Chickpea markets maintained their quiet tone as the Canada's 2018-19 marketing year came to an end.
Canadian exports appear to be closing out the season on a strong note, helped by improved export movement to the Indian subcontinent.
Shipments to Pakistan have already set a record for a single marketing year, pushing past 47,000 metric tons (MT) between August and June. The previous record was set during the 2015-16 marketing campaign, when Pakistan took almost 33,000 MT of chickpeas from Canada.
