Canada's Yellow Pea Exports Post Easy Month
PANAMA - Aug 2/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of yellow peas for Canada eased compared to the previous month in June, the latest data from Statistics Canada reports.
Shipments during the month reached 276,883 metric tons (MT), down from 286,530 MT the previous month. This lifted shipments so far during the marketing year to 2,333,886, up 12% last year.
Recent trade statistics revealed Bangladesh was largest importer, taking 132,038 MT during the month. China was the second most important consumer taking 99,864 MT, followed by India at 33,762 MT.
