Chickpea Exports From Russia Maintain Strong Trend
PANAMA - Jul 23/19 - SNS -- Shipments of chickpeas for Russia showed massive improvement, rising versus the previous month in May, official data from Federal Customs Service of Russia reveals.
Movement reached 41,970 metric tons (MT) during the month, up 65% from the 25,399 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 141,644 MT, versus 26,099 in the same period the last calendar year.
The latest trade statistics revealed Pakistan was biggest destination, taking 19,768 MT. Turkey was the second most important buyer receiving 11,465 MT, followed by India at 5,791 MT.
