India's Lentil Imports Maintain Strong Tone

PANAMA - Jul 23/19 - SNS -- India's imports of lentils in April rocketed compared to the previous month, according to data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports during the month reached 87,647 metric tons (MT), up 184% from the previous month's total of 30,818. So far imports have amounted to 174,750 MT, up from 58,744 in the same period the last calendar year.

Canada was the biggest shipper, shipping 66,493 MT. Australia was the second most important export origin supplying 15,498 MT, followed by United States at 3,584 MT.
