India's Chickpea Imports Sustain Strong Performance
PANAMA - Jul 23/19 - SNS -- India's imports of chickpeas in April rose slightly versus the previous month, according to data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.
Imports during the month reached 24,602 metric tons (MT), up from 21,237 MT the previous month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 96,523, up 3% last year.
The top exporter during the month was Myanmar, shipping 5,685 MT. Russia was the second most important shipper shipping 5,452 MT, followed by Tanzania at 4,025 MT.
