Red Lentil Exports From Canada Maintain Firm Trend
PANAMA - Jul 3/19 - SNS -- Canada's export shipments of red lentils during May jumped compared to the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Export sales reached 108,893 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 48% from the 73,487 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 990,462 MT, versus 602,435 in the same period the previous marketing year.
The number one buyer for the month was Pakistan, receiving 41,374 MT. India was the second most important consumer buying 26,451 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 11,352 MT.
