Chickpea Exports From Australia Maintain Soft Tone
PANAMA - Jul 3/19 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas from Australia were well down, plunging relative to the previous month in May, official trade data from Australia Bureau of Statistics shows.
Export sales totalled 27,288 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 37% from the 43,124 MT exported the previous month. Movement so far total 235,180 MT, versus 621,930 during the previous marketing year.
The most recent trade statistics showed United Arab Emirates was top importer, taking 9,079 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination taking 8,376 MT, followed by Pakistan at 3,603 MT.
