Pigeon Pea Imports By India Open With Strong Tone

PANAMA - Jun 15/19 - SNS -- So far during the calendar year on a a firmer tendency, with pigeon pea imports for India rocketed relative to the previous month in March, judging from the most recent data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports for the month amounted to 41,625 metric tons (MT), up 205% from the previous month's total of 13,635. So far imports have totalled 133,035 MT, up from 64,054 during the previous calendar year.

During the month, Myanmar was the biggest export origin, supplying 17,629 MT. Mozambique was the second most important shipper selling 15,867 MT, followed by Tanzania at 5,718 MT.
