Sunflower Seed Imports By Turkey Reveal Slow Month

PANAMA - Jun 12/19 - SNS -- Imports of sunflower seeds for Turkey were little changed, dropping versus the previous month in April, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reveals.

Imports reached 145,219 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 12% from the 164,802 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 427,551 MT, versus 390,675 during the last calendar year.

The biggest exporter for the month was Other, selling 80,203 MT. Bulgaria was the second most important supplier shipping 23,602 MT, followed by Romania at 18,604 MT.
