PANAMA - Jun 7/19 - SNS -- Field pea markets were little changed during the past week as steady export movement continues to draw down old crop inventories.
The slow start to planting this year's kharif season pulse crops in India combined with reports of drought like conditions in states like Gujarat contributed to modest optimism demand from the Indian subcontinent could improve in 2020.
Interestingly, data published by India's agriculture department is comparing seeding progress through June 7 with last year's plantings as of June 1 instead of June 8.
